THE TASK

Hidden Treks was started by a group of expert hikers who joined forces to provide travelers to the USA an in-depth guide of the best places to explore all over the country. The readership they currently have is based all over America, therefore they’d like to be able to offer recommendations state-by-state. They want to encourage their readers to explore the great outdoors so beautiful imagery showing off the scenery is a must.

UX APPROACH

With the locations being exclusively in the United States, I decided selecting by state would be top of my heirarchy. Secondary would be those that just come to browse regardless of location and this is the default state of the site, should the user decide not to use the ‘search by state’ function. Imagery is also a massive part of this brief so I made sure to give images a lot of screen real estate, where suitable.
